Inside Education was created specifically to build awareness and support for public education by providing hands-on experience in educational settings through a series of intensive half-day seminars that educate participants on issues and opportunities, successful programs offered, challenges, and the business of educating and preparing our students for their future. The accompanying Inside Education video will give you a brief glance at a few of the many and varied ways the SCCOE and the eleven local school districts collaborate to make student achievement a reality. You are encouraged to view the video, and by doing so, will be inspired to learn more and perhaps participate in our Inside Education program.
One day each month, this group of involved community and business representatives devote their time to becoming acquainted with education in Santa Cruz County. The sessions are “hands-on” providing participants to spend time in the classrooms of various programs. I invite you to join our Inside Education team as we tour schools, participate in classroom instruction, and meet students and staff for a first-hand, interactive experience in our schools.
Applications for the 2010-2011 school-year session are now being accepted. Sessions are conducted once a month during the school year. Please partner with us to ensure strong community involvement and communication in serving all students. A registration fee is charged to provide meals and assist with transportation costs.
