Regional System of District and School Support (RSDSS)
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is part of Region 5 RSDSS that consists of four counties: Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. Each County Office of Education has an RSDSS Coordinator that serves as a liaison to the RSDSS. The Region 5 Director and Coordinators work collaboratively to develop, support and implement the Regional RSDSS Work Plan. This collaborative effort is part of the statewide system of intensive-sustained support and improvement for local education agencies and schools receiving Title I funds. RSDSS is a requirement under the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act of 2001.

The RSDSS support services are prioritized based on the number of Program Improvement (PI) Schools, their PI identification year, and the percentage of PI schools within a district. The top priority for services will focus on SAIT or SAT schools, followed by Program Improvement Year 3, 2 and 1 schools. Additionally, factored into the prioritization of schools will be the school’s decile ranking (1-3). Services include School Snap-Shot Visitation, Data Analysis and School Reform, and SAIT.
