Wagner Cottage (Afternoon) Transition Program

Our goal is to reconnect and introduce out-of-school youth, and youth transitioning to adulthood to a traditional high school education with an emphasis on career choices, character education and literacy. Students will receive individual and small group instruciton, counseling and work experience.

Additional Goals

  • Assist students to prepare for GED
  • Assist students to prepare for CHSPE
  • Develop computer literacy experience through our computer laboratory
  • Achieve credits toward high school diploma
  • Provide CAHSEE preparation and tutorial support
  • Develop literacy and math skills through the arts
  • Provide job skill-training, on-site guidance and personal counseling
  • Build self-confidence, self-esteem and motivational skills

The Mission of the Alternative Education Programs is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages and develops the student’s interests and abilities so that each achieve academic, social and career success. We build successful collaboration with families and organizations to promote responsible citizenship, improve the quality of education and the well-being of our communities.

  • Turn right onto Evergreen Street
  • Wagner Cottage is next to the Evergreen Cemetery
