Vocational Education
You can receive a number of services through our Vocational Education Program such as:
- Pre-employment classes (for English or Applied Arts Credits)
- Work experience classes (you can earn credit for working at a rate of 36 hours=1 credit,
Applied Arts or Electives)
- Photo ID cards
- Enrollment in ROP classes
- Eureka computerized vocational assessments
- Help with creating a resume and filling out applications
- Enrollment in Cabrillo College programs
- Work permit application services
- Individualized career pathway counseling
- Transcript checks and credit analysis
- Help in finding a job
In addition you can participate in guest speaker presentations to be held at Vista, which is where the
Career Center is located. A monthly calendar of events will be posted at your school site.
Expected Student Learning Results
Every student who graduates from the Alternative Education Programs
is expected to achieve the following:
- Every student will be able to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Every student will be able to demonstrate basic scholastic skills in reading, writing, and
speaking, social studies, mathematics, science and technology.
- Every student will be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic living skills.
- Every student will demonstrate responsibility to oneself and one's community.
- Every student will develop a career pathway for the high school years and beyond.
