Esperanza Middle School graphic

Esperanza Middle School serves school students in grades 6 through 8. The purpose of the school is to provide students with an alternative learning envirnoment, supported by a low teacher-to-student ratio, where they can successfully continue their middle school education. The progra combines California academic standards with a wide range of creative teaching strategies. A collaboration of service agencies provide students with resource specialists, instructional assistants, and on-site counseling.

This structured setting, combined with a talented and caring staff assists students in maximizing academic, social, and emotional growth. A low student-to-teacher ratio allows students to experience a powerful core curriculum of math, english language arts, science, and social studies, as well as an array of enrichment courses. Current special programs include Body, Mind, & Spirit Tiger Martial Arts, organic gardening, and ceramics.

Our purpose at Esperanza Middle School:

  • Supporting each student to become a positive, self-sufficient and informed community member
  • Providing each student with the opportunity to receive a middle-school advancement certificate
  • Preparing students to ucceed both academically and socially upon entrance to high school
  • Building self-confidence, self-esteem, and character through hands-on individual, small-group, and whole-class activities
